Our calling
....is to respond to the
Gospel of Christ's love,
and live out its discipleship
in worship and mission
We are a people of worshipping Methodists serving communities in the East Midlands stretching from the city in Nottingham to rural Derbyshire.
We aim to worship God, in and through His Son Jesus, by the power of the Holy Spirit, and to share our love for Him in everything we do, say, think and are. Our circuit offers a warmth in welcome, a richness and diversity of fellowship and a wide variety of worship.
These elements of our life together reflect a depth of faith in, and love for, Jesus as we aim to reach out in love to all. The circuit is committed to mission and growth especially through pursing justice for people and the planet.
Our Worshipping and Serving Communities
Although the circuit has worshipping communities in geographic areas, it is not constrained by buildings. Worshipping and bible study groups also use Zoom, YouTube etc to make the Christian faith accessible where ever you are. Details of the communities, map and preaching plan on the worshipping communities page.
Our response to worshipping God is to serve our communities. Foodbank collection and distribution, young people's groups, toddler groups, Cafes for fellowship and partnership with other churches and organisations etc serve the community.
Everyone is valued
Every person has a value and dignity, which comes directly from the creation of humans in God’s own image and likeness.
Christians see this potential as fulfilled by God’s re-creation of us in Christ. Among other things this implies a duty to value all people as bearing the image of God and therefore to protect them from harm.
New places for new people
Society is in constant change, socially, economically and by the impact of environmental needs.
In small ways the people of the Circuit have developed and are addressing new ways in which faith can be a positive encouragement to people to live their lives through these changes.
Students in Nottingham
Nottingham is a vibrant, multi-cultural city with lots of opportunities to explore faith, identity and relationships. For this reason, living as a student in the city can be both exciting and challenging at times.
Being part of a Christian community during your time at college or university can be extremely helpful and provides an important base to return to again and again in the business of life and studies. Around the universities and close to student accommodation you will find churches and innovative city wide projects.
